Before booking

Tell us the make, model and fuel type. If there is already a fault, describe it so we can confirm whether you need a repair appointment before a routine service.

A service and a fault-finding appointment are planned differently. Mention intermittent problems too: losing pressure, unusual noises or hot water that changes temperature. You do not need to diagnose the cause. A description of when it happens is more useful than a guess.

Have your full postcode, preferred dates and an access contact ready. If the boiler is in a cupboard, loft or another restricted space, explain the access so the office can check the arrangements before confirming.

Before the visit

Clear access around the boiler and its controls. Keep previous service records and the appliance manual nearby if you have them. Tell us about access restrictions and additional needs.

Move ordinary belongings away from the work area where it is safe to do so, and make sure the engineer can reach the controls. Tell us about pets, parking, locked gates or shared entrances. If you need a particular way of communicating or arranging access, mention it when booking.

There is no need to remove the boiler casing, dismantle controls or carry out a repair before the visit. If an active fault or safety concern develops, contact the team so the appointment can be reassessed.

After your service

Keep the service record with your boiler documents. Follow the manufacturer’s servicing and warranty requirements. Any repair recommendations should be explained and priced separately.

Ask the engineer to explain the outcome in plain language: what was serviced, whether anything needs further attention and what record you should keep. A recommendation is an opportunity to understand the issue and agree a separate repair if needed.

If the property is rented, check whether a landlord gas safety check was also arranged. A service record and a landlord gas safety record have different purposes; do not assume one document replaces the other.

Your quick checklist

  • Boiler make, model and fuel noted
  • Existing faults described before booking
  • Safe access to the boiler and controls
  • Manual and previous records available if you have them
  • Someone authorised to discuss any additional work

Book the appointment your boiler needs

If your boiler works and is due routine maintenance, start with boiler servicing. If it is not working or has a recurring fault, discuss a repair assessment first. The office will explain the next step, price arrangement and availability for your property.
