Heating and energy support in Wales: where to start in 2026
If cost is stopping you from keeping your home warm or repairing a heating problem, start with official eligibility advice before agreeing work or finance.

The Nest Warm Homes Programme
The Welsh Government describes Nest as a scheme offering free advice and, for eligible households, home energy-efficiency improvements. Eligibility and the measures available depend on the household and property, so use the official checker or contact Nest directly.
The official contact number shown by the Welsh Government is 0808 808 2244, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Check the page before relying on hours or eligibility, as schemes can change.
If you have no heating or hot water
Welsh Government guidance says some households without heating or hot water may be able to get help through the Nest crisis route. This is not a Corva emergency service and Corva cannot decide eligibility; contact the scheme using the official route.
What changed in 2026
In July 2026, the Welsh Government announced additional funding for home energy upgrades and said a further £5 million was allocated to Nest, taking planned funding for the demand-led scheme to £37 million for the financial year. Funding announcements do not mean every applicant or every measure will qualify.
Before authorising work
Ask whether an assessment, approval or nominated installer is required before work begins. Starting privately funded work first could affect support. Keep copies of eligibility decisions, surveys and the written scope, and never pay someone merely because they claim to represent a government scheme.
